Apologetiks.

"The Heroic and successful defense of Cartagena in 1741 against Admiral Vernon's vastly superior English forces was led by Basque admiral Blas de Lezo, a peg-legged "half man" who had lost an eye, an arm, and a leg in prior battles."

Wow! And there is a colossal list of men that have given their lives for the love of country. Men that have kissed family good bye because there was a battle cry.

I sit perplexed with my knees shaking at the story of the colombian "half man." One legged, peg-legged, one eye, one arm. Everything on this guy was in halves. Da dream of even a full portion was far fetched let alone a double portion.

We live in an era in christendom of double portions in anointing, electronics(church projectors and stuff), finances, mansions, cars, wives...its endless. And am thinkin, whom much is given, much is expected! Half men seem to have nothing to lose.
David Brainerd after a careless comment about his professor at yale University was thrown out and skelter he headed for the bushes AS A MISSIONARY to the red Indians. With a body smitten by tuberculosis, He wrestled for the salvation of these people sometimes praying on wintry days. He died at the ripe old age of 29 but left a trail of revival among the red indians.

Two old ladies in their eighties travailed for revival in the hebrides. The revival of Duncan Campbell. One was blind completely! Anutha "half- person."
I can recount stories of other half-people peradventure we might get lines and sinkers in our spiritual digestive system but long stories are not so palatable.

The pages are painted with full blown intellectuals and mature spiritual independents. May be its time for another intellectual "half- man" like William Seymour who was son to former slaves and blind in one eye. he was denied a preaching licence because he was black, so he led hisself to a stable where he prayed with his head stacked in a crate and made the name AZuza street revival!
Let not our money, bible college tutoring, connections and collosal intellects ever take away our eternal need to depend on Jesus. Independence from God makes men a dime-a-dozen, degrees or no degrees.
